We aren’t going to hide this, this coffee is WILD, FUNKY, FRUITY, and UNEXPECTED!

Starting off with an incredible sweetness and a jammy mouthfeel, with funky red cherry, and hints of sweet orange and lemon acidity, as it cools on the tongue it reveals notes of apricot, and dark chocolate.

The Starmaya varietal is classified as an F1 Hybrid, being a cross between the Marsallesa varietal, and a wild Ethiopian/Sudanese natural varietal, and is one of the only F1 Hybrids being commercially grown.

V&G San Juanillo was started by Tomas Gutierrez, an agronomist, and Allan Vargas, and engineer. Working together they have created our favourite farm, they consistently produce delicious coffees and they are always experimenting, innovating, and pushing the boundaries of coffee. They focus mainly on growing new hybrid varietals which have been developed by CiCafe, the Coffee Research Institute of Costa Rica. Their farm is bee friendly, as a bonus!
